Lakshmi Narayan was the son of Nara Narayan. He was a rather weak ruler who, around 1596, declared himself a vassal of the Mughals, much to his subject's disgust. This led to unrest in the state; he went to the Mughal governor in Dacca, where he was detained for 4 years.
